I blame LTT. All they'd have to do is limit the giveaway to people that have been active members for a certain amount of time. But i guess the whole point of the giveaways is to pull in new members sooo... ya know

Well, i was like that someday, because i didn't like forums. (at least i thought that i didn't like it)
However, i watched every single video that Linus made, but i just didn't want to spend some time on the forums. This person might be a really cool guy and a big fan of Linus, but we don't know that. 

Just remember though, not everyone likes forums.

I'm not really sure. How often do people stay because of giveaways?

 

It also helps inflate the member count, adds more unique viewers (even if only temporary), and creates forum activity -> raises ad revenue and pay scale based on site traffic. This is purely speculation, but I don't know of that's an indirect benefit. 

 

it's probably not really an issue since I assume forum revenue is mostly irrelevant and separate.

Thought about that too.. but in the end i dont really care either way. It would be nice to see one of the members with 5k+ posts win something cool tho

we all do. But Linus wants that every his fan enters blah, blah, blah bs. I'm suprised I wasn't getting on any shit, when I commented on Linuses' instagram's psot that it should be a forums only based giveaway
