My girlfriend uses a Logitech Marathon Mouse M705 and has gone through several of them over the past few years. She uses an iMac that runs Mac OS X 10.10 and Windows 7 Home 64-bit. The Mac side is used for graphic design and the Windows side is for gaming, typically MMOs. She's due for another replacement, not because the mouse doesn't function but because it's not as comfortable. The main reason why she likes to keep buying new mice is because she has long nails (TALONS) and the rubberized grip gets shredded over time.

Recently she's been asking about gaming mice, but I figure she needs something a bit more rugged or solid. I'm not sure if it needs to be wireless, but I'm sure that's her preference. As for grip, she's either a palm or fingertip. It definitely should not have too many buttons, five would be ideal. I'm not sure she would consider anything with more than eight buttons. Obviously the mouse and any accompanying software must be Windows/Mac compatible.

We live in the United States. Thanks for reading and for any assistance!

Gaming mice are the most solid mice there is.

For wireless G602 is extremely good.

The logitech g602 is amazing; I have it, and so far I love it. I have had it for around 2 months and it is still over 1/2 battery.

I would say corsair m45, if the budget is bigger logitech g502. The g502 is king. I had a dpi switch go bad last week, they sent me a new mouse without question 2 day shipping without even asking proof of the button going bad. Now I have two g502's (I can still cycle dpi if I map the button elsewhere). Legendary support + wonderful mouse= do it.

It looks like Logitech and Razer have software that should be compatible. Corsair doesn't appear to have Mac compatibility and isn't working on it, but I guess there are 3rd party options: SteerMouse, USB Overdrive, etc.

I will share all these recommendations with her and will report back if she makes a decision.

Thanks everyone for your responses!

Driverless mouse; Zowie EvO EC1 is the large hand version and ec2 is the smaller hand version.  They're solid mice.  Mionix mice are amazing as well, expensive, but sometimes on sale with perfect optical sensors.  I liked the Naos 7000 for palm.  The Func MS-2 is a good mouse as well, as large and as heavy as the Zowie(maybe a little heavier), but plenty of buttons and a strong rubber coating.  And as my last opinion - the Roccat Kone series of mice.  The XTD was my favorite mouse for three months.  I mean just.. amazing, and even now it is amazing, but Zowie is great ;3

The ROG Gladius is a good one as well, and it's not rubber on the top of the mouse with the same form factor as my zowie or the Deathadder, but a light mouse, and durable.  So, those're all my options for you!  :D

G602 gets my vote. Built like a tank and pretty good for MMOs. Mac and PC compatible. One of my favorite mice.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
