Wearhaus Ark wireless headphones (kickstarter)

Music is a social experience -- much more so than your headphones currently allow for. It's a way to express your individual taste and a key part of your own style and personality.

The Wearhaus Arc is a reimagining of this classic piece of hardware; with all the changes in how we share and listen to music, it's about time headphones evolved to keep up.

Every part of the Arc has undergone rigorous stress and reliability testing, including careful tuning of headband pressure (no more sore ears!) and a super comfortable, form-fitting cushion design that seals out external noise.

Music is a social experience?

You don't want to be listening to music and being with people at the same time, as you can't hear them. The only way to do it, is with mild background music, which doesn't fit most songs.

Listening to live music is much more louder, and leaves the social part behind. The only way to make it social is having your friend play close to you, which means there is not going to be headphones involved.

Finally, creating the music can be social if you are part of a band or group, but that doesn't relate to the campaign.

So... let's hang out and watch each others lights turn on and off? Yeah no thanks.

Or you know, Speakers.

Also this concept only works if you buy all your friends a pair for christmas since they are usless without neighbours.

As @Blue fellow said, headphones on: go away, give me some solitude, speakers out: let's socialise.

But it seems like an average pair of headphones, the shape seems interesting, haven't seen many headphones attempt the same bulge shape.

Oh whatever, if people want a colourful led pair of headphones to socialise then let em, but just leave ME alone when I have my headphones on.

Home is where the heart my desktop is.

I'm not really sure I see the point. I have pretty terrible taste in music though so this probably isn't targeted for me. It looks interesting enough though.

I like the idea.  Personally I enjoy sharing music with friends, but at the same time there might be situations where some people who don't want to listen in or a speaker system would be too loud.  Not to mention that with headphones you don't need to worry about the acoustics of a room to get good sound quality.  I won't consider buying a headphone like this because of others' reasons listed above.  Their closed nature isolates you from friends, and I want a nicer frequency response than that.

Honestly I think the primary functionality (the music sharing thing) could be done just with an app and let everyone use their own headphones.  Which would make it cheaper and a lot more accessible.
