Ubisoft has detailed a forthcoming new PC patch for Far Cry 4, which will be available at some point next week (8 December onwards). The patch notes aren’t hugely specific, but indicate that various mouse and control issues, as well as some remaining graphics problems should be addressed by this one.

But, again, the notes aren’t super specific. They just say “Fixed various Graphic issues.” Some players on PC are still experiencing stuttering in Far Cry 4, but whether patch 1.5.0 will attempt to fix this isn’t really clear.

You should, however, be able to stream the game more clearly now. So that’s nice.

Here are the notes:

Added 21:9 aspect ratio support

Added Russian text and subtitles to worldwide game version

Fixed an issue with aim assist

Fixed an issue with grappling if aim button was remapped on another key

Fixed an issue with mouse input

Fixed an issue with movement key binding on mouse buttons

Fixed an issue with Uplay invites in Steam version

Fixed various Controls issues

Fixed various Graphic issues

Fixed various IGE issues

Fixed various Session Browser issues

Fixed various UI issues

NVIDIA graphics preset was removed

Reduced performance drop impact during streaming

I think the game runs fine now, whoever has stuttering might try this mini guide i did that helps quite a bit: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/265146-how-to-fix-farcry-4-stuttering/

Also the streams of the game i've seen were completely fine, i guess streamers with "normal" pc's were having issues...

Meh I have no issues with it on my main pc or AMD HTPC  I mean fps drops from 100+ to 70ish at times for no apparent reason but meh I can't say I'd notice it without Overwolfs FPS overlay on.

They're incredibly vague compared to their AC:U patch notes though. Who the heck binds movement keys to their mouse? I guess maybe if you only have one hand or something it would be nice but other then that what the.

If you see the stuttering or not, and if it bothers you or not, is up to you. The game is broken. That's a fact.

Let me guess, you're trying to play the game at MSAAx16 or some ridiculous filtering.

1080p Ultra X4 MSAA or X4 TXAA is some ridiculous setting? That's what most people with high end PCs are using.

I played at 1440p X2MSAA, even tried SMAA and it was still a stutterfest whenever the game loaded parts of the map.

What exactly does your fix do? If you want people to mess with their registry be crystal clear about what they're doing...

It's pretty clear, you disable the large page files for the game.

I run the game maxed out on 1080p and MSAAx2 and doesn't drops below 60fps.

Tested it with ACU, it does absolutely nothing to help. The game still drops a lot of frames and the physics reset during those drops.

The game drops frames even if i just look at a wall with nothing onscreen.

Oddly I've never dipped bellow 61fps and that only happens during in game cut scenes when the game forces V-sync that said I'm also not attempting to run it on Ultra I'm just running very high with motion blur off and SMAA and god rays set to enhanced@ 1080p on my HTPC with it's MSI gaming 270x OC 4gb with 1200mhz core 5820mhz memory(only game or artificial benchmark that's had issue with my normal 1210mhz core though). I've honestly not played more then 30 mins on my main machine(X61 pump rattles above 75%rpm atm and it's been hot as hell here) with everything maxed out still only at 1080p though so i guess it may have some issue I've not noticed. The only part of this patch I care for is the "Fixed an issue with mouse input" hopefully that means when we turn acceleration off it's actually off.

Did you add -disablepagefilecheck to the shortcut?

Also, i'm guessing you're playing with triple buffering activated...

Look i've tried everything.

These workarounds will not do anything, it's an issue with the game and the engine itself.

It's not normal to drop frames and GPU usage when you're just looking at an empty wall.

Large-page support enables applications to establish large-page memory regions, which is particularly useful on 64-bit Windows.

Each large-page translation uses a single translation buffer inside the CPU.

The size of this buffer is typically three orders of magnitude larger than the native page size; this increases the efficiency of the translation buffer, which can increase performance for frequently accessed memory.

^Except when it's Ubisoft!

/The only issue I've ever had was a VERY VERY small time stutter, and no doubt the same that everyone's getting.

But my GPU usage STAYS locked at 98-100%, and I don't drop frames (bar that stutter) (Meaning I don't suddenly drop to 35 from my usual 55-60fps)

I used the MIPS tweak, and it was 99% gone, only stuttering when driving, I applied this page tweak, enabled TripleB, and disabled the MIP tweak (to default) and it's close to the same again, little less while driving, keeping the Image quality now too as Mips is defaulted to work again.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

How's that relevant when the vast majority of players have issues?

Also 1080p X2 MSAA isn't exactly very demanding...

Unity I reinstalled today after seeing those threads, Maxed cept Shadows are one notch down (not soft) and FXAA instead of MSAA.

Still have infrequent drops to 40-45fps at some moments, usually sticking around 50-60fps.

I Agree,...with 2xMSAA it should be a cakewalk...

Could you guys use fraps to benchmark frametimes for 60 seconds and upload the file? I find it hard to believe it works fine. But do it without mip0 disabled, cause if you have to disable high res textures for the game not to lag then it's a broken game, no thanks.

FC4 1080p With Defaulted Mips (Not tweaked) (Maxed without MSAA, but SMAA) I prefer this as MSAA still makes the image look crap, god knows why, this is the only game I have where MSAA makes it look worse (trees n such shimmering)
