Zalman is back with the CNPS9800 MAX: A new benchmark for the £12 cooler

brownninja97

Yeah, it's like noctua, but instead of ugly colors they use a different shape lol.

Zalman has had this shape since tower coolers wernt the norm. They ruled the flat flower style cooler market.

Anyone else miss 100% copper coolers because I sure do.

15$? yah,

Grease me senpai

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

yea also because it tarnished and that does reduce cooling performance. But even then there is like maybe 1 modern 100% copper cpu cooler.

Ive had my Zalman 9700 for over 6 years. I still love this thing. Sure its not "100%" copper due to it's mounting. But close enough for me.

They didn't have 100% copper variants of that I believe. Some of Zalman smaller coolers especially the flat flower style are still available in copper and even have heat pipes now. But I want like a Noctua NH-D15 or equivalent in copper.
My grip with this units is that I can't change the fan if it breaks or I want to upgrade it.
A fan costs nearly as much. If it breaks RMA it and if your out of warranty it's done it's job so buy a new one. Also I'm sure they would let you buy a replacement. They are quite good about warranties as they recently replaced the fan for my all copper 120mm flower style cooler. It's the fatality red one and its now sitting happily on my phenom 2 x4 965.

I would say i missed it, but the copper fins on mine used to be so damn sharp that i kept cutting myself on them when i worked in my old cramped case. It was like a papercut but faster and deeper because of the metal.

Yep but no days they bend the edges, at least on the sides of most coolers so I dont really see that as being a problem.
