What kind of post secondary schooling do you have?

mackenzielittle

Just curious about what kind of post secondary education LTT members have or are in the process of getting. I recently completed my first year of engineering and intend on pursuing a degree in Mechatronics Engineering. How bout you!

'Mechatronics' Sounds legit.

I have a general Associates (2 year) degree from a community college and am working on (1st year) a Bachelors (4 year degree) in Mechanical Engineering at a private college. Didn't do as well as I'd have hoped, but it will work out. My life always does.

However, I'm still uncertain if I will stay in Mechanical Engineering. Computer Science then pretty much anything else is a possibility. Currently (Summer) working as an IT intern at a fairly large company and getting valuable experience in many areas.

I live in the UK so I had a year at a 6th Form College after Secondary School but didn't really enjoy it so I'm now at a College studying Aeronautical Engineering, just finished and received my grades from my first year.  One more year left, not sure what I'll do after but it all depends on whether I get this apprenticeship in Canada.

Haha I assure you Mechatronics is actually a real discipline. It's only been offered in Canada for about 8 years I think.

Think I had about just over 2000 hours left on my apprenticeship for Overhead Crane operator "can't remember the the exact number as it's been a few years since then. mainly Gantry Crane" but industry went down with recesion and got my Underground Hard Rock common core for working in an underground mine "mining precious metals"

oh my word i want to do  Mechatronics Engineering ... (not offered in Trinidad) currently i just finished Advanced level education (commonly referred to A-levels. Form six for who ever know this system  ). i have applied for  tertiary level education at UWI where i would pursue a degree in electrical engineering.

I completed my undergraduate degree in 2012, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics. Quite a few Aerospace topics as well.

Currently doing a Master's degree in Aerospace engineering (course-based). 1 year down, 1 more to go. Ideally, I'd like to continue with Ph.D, but that's on hold for now. Career prospects may have opened up too, since I'm doing an internship now.

For those curious about Mechatronics, it's almost always a specialization under Mechanical engineering. There's a fair amount of focus on Robotics and other Mechanical/Electrical courses.

4 years combined at university doing Economics and law school at same time, then moved to IT education (no idea what it would translate to english), after 2 years of acing that I had to stop because I could no longer afford it. Everything except gradeschool I have ever achieved in education is no longer valid so all i have left now is a master degree in no-life gaming.

Kinda hard to say but I'm in high school (closest match) because I had no plans for my future. After three years of high school I'm seriously considering becoming a pilot because I love traveling and I feel like I haven't been travelling enough

Life.

To be more serious, started school, TV Production & Event Production, realised I didn't learn anything, went on to work with festivals, concerts and events. Mainly security, construction and organizing. So no diploma, grades or anything fancy like that, I have experience instead of a piece of paper saying I've read about it and remembered it at the end of the semester. ;)
