What kind of post secondary schooling do you have?

mackenzielittle

virtually none. im dyslexic and the teachers at my school blamed me for it instead of helping me work round it, so i went truant for the last 3 years of high school.

today i can run circles around most people as far as computers go. i have tough myself 3 languages (all basic based), im now teaching myself 3dsmax. and getting reasonable results. (yeah i know whats a 42 year old pensioner doing learning :P

anyways this is where im at after 8 months of maybe 4 hours a week of learning.

so dont be put off if your not booksmart. theres probably something else your good at...

Cool stuff! Looks really awesome. It's great how you learned yourself and showed how you can achieve :) I felt sort of inspired from this haha.

I'm planning on going into computer(hardware) engineering and/or computer science.

I've got a Bachelors in Virtual Art with a focus (that wasn't all that focused) in Game Art. 3 years after graduation, I realized that's not at all what I'd like to do for a living. I'm much more interested in computer hardware. Working on getting the A+ Cert and beyond.

Just curious about what kind of post secondary education LTT members have or are in the process of getting. I recently completed my first year of engineering and intend on pursuing a degree in Mechatronics Engineering. How bout you!

Please refer to the topic that I started for more extensive information on the subject of LTT forums members' current educational/job status. It has a poll and everything. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/22698-are-you-in-school/?hl=jcgross#entry287123

I live in the UK so I had a year at a 6th Form College after Secondary School but didn't really enjoy it so I'm now at a College studying Aeronautical Engineering, just finished and received my grades from my first year.  One more year left, not sure what I'll do after but it all depends on whether I get this apprenticeship in Canada.

Not all of the UK operates this way. We do 6 years at secondary school. Then we go to University. I always found it strange talking to some my English friends who done college before uni.

Personally im studying for  a bsc in computer science. Its OK but i doubt ill ever using seeing as how i want to run my own company. Still worth getting for bragging rights tho :p
