So it seems that 4K displays are finally getting cheap.  Sony now have a 4K TV for only £4000, is this the start of 4K displays at reasonable prices?

THey may be getting less expensive but i would still wait to buy one. I remember when hd first came out and the tvs were like $5000 and now they are way below that. Just wait awhile, they will get alot less expensive with time.

Well Sony's 4K 55" TV is cheap at £4000.  I payed about £1500 for my 55" 1080p TV so £2500 more for 4K and the better features of the new TV seems a good price.

Lol cheap..That's like saying the titan is cheap and a great deal.. Lol

How is it?  Compare the price/performance of the Titan to other graphics cards and you see there are better alternatives.  A 4K 55" TV for £4000 compared to Sony's last 4K TV at £25,000 and most other 4K TVs which are >£15,000 you see Sony's new 4K TV is relatively cheap.

I'm not sure what you mean.  HDMI and DP support 4K resolution.

I hate the built in steroes. You spend 7k on a TV and you don't have a home theatre? Those speakers just make it look weird.

The TV upscales the 1080p to 4k.

I'm not a big fan of the speakers on it either, hopefully their next TV will just have normal speakers so the price is lower as well.  Yes, the TV does upscale all images to as close to 4K res as possible.

No thanks. I've seen the difference between a top of the line sony bravia tv and a cheap 32" tv and the difference is night and day with how the picture looks. That TV while being cheap is probably not worth it in how it upscales and the picture it produces.

Big brand TV's are overpriced atm but I wouldn't cheap out on something like a TV.

I imagine as the rate of intergrated graphics get better more brands will begin to sell 4k monitors so for the average consumer it would look better and not feel sluggish.

I can see something here, perhaps in a few years 4K TV will be a new common speedy cheap thing, like the SSD.
When they got released, prices were really expensive. Only rich people bought them, but I see them just becoming like SSDs in terms of popularity.

I hope this pattern does follow the 4K Monitors.
