Yeah I saw those, but the problem is that Linus is using overclocked results in all their tests. Lucky for them, they got a 780ti that got to 1300+ MHz and a really bad 970 and 980 that barely overclocked at all.

The point is that at stock clocks, the 780ti is equivalent to the 970. Whether you win the silicon lottery or not is another matter :P

Yeah, only because the two chips on one PCB makes entirely too much heat. Not for overclocking or anything, the cooler keeps the 295x at slightly higher temps than the 290x

i thought it kept the chips at 65 Celsius at full load so lower temps than r9 290x

The r9 290x memory have a 512bit bus which makes it ideal for high resolutions like 4k
