I wonder if companies will be able to rent (or use) the fiber they're installing to give better service... Im in midtown and still only have a terrible copper connection with verizon

I don't think so. That would be a pretty smart idea though.

Its a huge opportunity for the city to make even more money off these "pylons"... NYCs internet is incredibly bad, stimulating a little competition and development wouldn't be bad at all.
