Computer personalities, what is your computer like to you?

MzCatieB

Ok so my partner said that my desktop wasn't a living thing this morning (Understandable) and that it doesn't have a personality... i claim this as wrong and that ALL computers small or large have a personality in some way, for example:

My desktop is sort of like a uni student, it works very well, loves to annoy me and some mornings it doesn't like to wake up and all it wants to do is play computer games.

would you say that your computer has a personality, if yes what kind of personality is it?

My computer has no personality. It is a tool that I can look at and adore. It is a 'window' to all that is the internet.

I would agree that computers have some personality. Just like a car/ boat enthusiast would say that their vehicle has a personality and name. My pc is kinda like a an annoying sibling. It does stuff when it wants to and on its own time. Though in the end you still love it.

I don't think of my computer as a person or having a personality, but I can see where you're getting at.

I would say mine is the more outfitted type that just wants to be normal, but has a great mind power to do anything it wants.

So the average Joe person walking down the street that has an IQ of 150.

My current machine is like an old mate who never gives up trying to do his best to help me with anything I need, although I know he can't handle to much because of his age. My new one will be his prime-time son (same stable mentality, but juiced on steroids).

My old computer used to work like a boss, but almost every time my friends would come over it would play up and certain things just refused to work.

Sometimes it would just be weird and not detect usb input, or windows aero would crash for no reason.

It would always behave when no else was around. T_T

My computer is.... Diligent. But refined. I guess if I were to nominate one person it most resembles it would be Commander Sisko from Deep Space Nine.

Doesn't take shit from anyone and always gets the job done :D

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Mine is like an ex Olympic athlete who is trying to overcome a heroine addiction. Really fast and brilliant but the smallest hitch and it's back on the smack. I think the sound card is a bad influence on it.

Mine is like a senior with superpowers (beast i7 860) but his nurses (crappy intel motherboard) don't let him use them (can't overclock)

Why do i always get blue screens? Why not a red one for a change?

My current PC (the on in the sig) is like an average sportsman and a good buddy. Works hard and well, not the best in any way, but gets everything done. Also, he's reliable, won't give up on anything, but he hates the heat (just like I do :D)

My laptop is like a middle-aged family man, who never has been super good at anything. he's starting to show his age, not as fast/powerful as in his heyday, but still trying hard.

My old banana crate of a PC is like an old, senile and stubborn man, who is refusing to go to the mental institution. He's OK physically, but sometimes there is something wrong with his head (8 years old, no OS reinstalls). Used to be like my new PC, fast and strong, but let himself go.

CPU: i5 2500K (@ stock for now) GPU: Gigabyte GTX650Ti OC MOBO: Intel P67 RAM: 2x4GB Kingston (@1333MHz) PSU: 550w Xilence CASE: Generic :D MONITOR: Dell U2412M (24', 1200p 16:10) MOUSE: Acme something KB: Logitech K260
