I found an old computer. It still works!

Deus Regum

I found my mothers old desktop pc. It has a Intel pentium dual core 1.8Ghz/1Gb of DDR2/Ati X300/30Gb HDD(IDE)/450w generic psu along with a cheapo generic case.

so i booted it up. it was running windows ME(haha). and was surprised that there seems to be nothing wrong with it.

But i don't know what to do with it.

soo. its pretty old. around 10years old. was just curious on what you guys do with your old pc's? xD

Lo and Behold

Use it for quick-access cold storage or software experiments...

Try running Windows 10 Tech Preview on it and see what happens...

Run a IRC server file server or game server but I think you will be pretty limited in terms of what games you can run.

Step 1 ) take pc to roof

Step 2 ) pick up old pc

step 3 ) throw pc, preferable in a spinning motion, off the roof

step 4 ) hope you did not hit anyone in the face

step 5) run

step 6) get arrested for murder

step 7) stay in jail for 20 years

step 8 ) get released and continue life

I would advise skipping 4 onwards just incase

Which, as we all know, is built on the Netstar architecture, which was so bad that the first Core 2 Duos were souped up dual core Pentium IIIs.

I would personally take it apart and just dismantle the components as much as I could. Just interesting to see all of the internals.

i think i would do that too. but when i kill it off or something. xD not now that its still working.

well. maybe its supposed to run xp. but i think this pc was given a fresh install of an OS. my mom isn't tech-savvy. maybe even tech-aware. haha. so it had a fresh install of an OS. and this was the one that was put in it. xD

dual core old?

I think I am getting old ...

My thoughts exactly. When I read the title I thought the OP had found an old Commodore 64, Spectrum, Amstrad or something :)

scrap it for gold  and copper.

the amount of heat and power usage makes it pretty much pointless to keep

Its all about those volumetric clouds
