I can't quote anyone in particular because a lot of people did this, but EA, Activision, Square Enix and 2K are publishers, not development studios. Ubisoft and Bethesda are publishers with development studios by the same name, so you get those on a technicality.

 

For me, Supergiant, Klei, and Amplitude are the my favorites at the moment. Among triple-A developers: Eidos Montreal/Interactive, DICE, and Crystal Dynamics.

My favourite games studio just based on games I play and spend time playing time after time is Blizzard and Ubisoft, there I said it I play and enjoy playing WoW (the daddy of all MMORPG)  :o.

Bioware and CD project red.

Valve.But they are pretty slow in developing games.

They've actually released something like 15 games in 18 years which is very productive. That's not counting the stuff they outsourced like the expansions.

 

But they are slow when it comes to the Half Life series.

Bioware for me. I have played more games from bioware than any other gaming studio.

Test ideas by experiment and observation; build on those ideas that pass the test, reject the ones that fail; follow the evidence wherever it leads and question everything.
