To teenage LTT members: Do your parents get mad at you for decent grades in school?

rambi36

I recently had a Computer Science project that I had to do and I got around an 80, but my mom wasn't pleased about that and she said I could do better (I think an 80 is pretty good although she thinks otherwise). Now before you guys ask, no, I'm not asian :P

Don't settle for decent.  80 isn't good.

I wish my parents had pushed me harder in highschool.

As someone who has been in both places, it really strains the family environment

Mediocrity isn't something we should settle for and we should strive to be fabulous :P

It's becasue she sees a lot of potential in you. And she just wants you to succeed. I've never had this problem but that's because I've always had A's.

I'm not asian either.

There aren't many asians in Indiana. I just noticed that.

They stopped asking for too much when I explained to them the circumstances that I need to work under... We have an agreement that I am allowed freedom as long as I pass key subjects or I don't destroy my or another person's life...

Nope, my parents are fine so long as I'm not getting bad grades. They'd like me to get As and Bs in as many tests as possible, but so long as I show that I put the effort in and did revise for the tests, then they're okay with whatever I get.

When I was in high school my parents were like if you have  C or above that's ok. I was in AP everything and went to a online school for the "gifted" which I think most of those "gifted" people are crazy... .so I guess that did not have to much to worry about....

When I was in secondary school they did, but now that I'm in college, I'm more concerned about doing well than they are. At this point my results will affect my career within the next year or so.

They get mad at me if I get below a 70 (Fail), and they get concerned when I'm in the 70s. Happy with 80+. Although I like to settle for 90+, but am fine with 85 range. I'm doing a lot better this year than last year, only one B. I don't know how I maintain good grades if I'm so lazy and have an unhealthy level of procrastination.

I don't know how american grades work but here in australia, 50% is a C (Pass) 70% is a B and 85% is an A. My mum usually gets mad if I get a C but she is happy with B's, although If I get a B in Maths B or Information Processing Technology she would be mad. She usually expects B+/A

They stopped caring in high school after I kept getting 4.5 gpa's. High school is a joke when you compare it to college.

I got pretty poor grades in HS because I was an idiot and thought I had a better career worked out that wouldn't require good grades (industrial welding, you can make good money, but good luck dealing with unions and the hellatious working environment)

By 100 do you mean there are 100 marks or 100% of the answers correct?

100 marks although you can get above that if you do extra credit
