How are the Shure SE215's?

jerhms

How are the Shure SE215's? Nobody has really done any sort of review on them on YouTube, so I was curious how they are. I am looking for some great ear-buds with entry level high end audio quality. I am looking into the clear pair because they look pure epic (for us geeks). *drool*

Well, they are pretty bass heavy. Good overall sound but a bit too dark for me. I think they are good for bass and vocal/mid, not so much for treble. If you love bass, go with Se215s. They are one of the best value in that price range. Also, they are super comfortable too.

Do you have a recommendation on any good earbuds that have good audio quality, rather than bass? I'm not a big bass head.

They sound pretty good. Also very durable, mine went through the wash and are still fine. The sound isolation is really good too, I use them while I drum and they block out sound very well.

The hifiman RE-400 have good reviews, and have a slightly more balanced sound than the SE215.  You could look into those.

If you spent a bit more, the UM PRO 10 from Westone is a very good option at around ~$130.  They are very neutral from what I've seen.

Its the best for $100

Its meant to be $200 but its $100 on amazon so yea I'll go with it

Shure se215 is very balanced with punchy bass clear mids and highs from the reviewers

“It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.”

Probably RE-400 or UM1. These are more balanced sound than Se215. Tried all 3, the one I like most is Westone UM1.

For, Hifiman RE-400, it is a tiny IEM, a bit too small for me. Good sound stage with balanced/accurate sound. Some says it's a flat/neutral headphone, some say it's a warm and sweet.

For UM1, this is the one I choose after tried all 3 IEMs. This one sounds warmer and smoother compared to others. Less punchy bass which I prefer. Good for vocal/classical type music.

I've got a pair. They're more of an entry level IEM with an emphasis on bass. For ~$120 though, they're a good choice.

These are the last iems I have bought. For their cost they are excellent. 10/10 would buy again.

If you want a 100 dollar iem as stated previously the hifiman re 400 is not a bad choice for a flat balanced sound signature but the shure offer more bass. An alternative for the shure would be the rha 750 at 125 its the most expensive but the best built out of any iems in this price range being made out of stainless steel and it has a bass boost as well.

In addition I am pretty sure that Linus is going to review the shure and a pair of sennheiser momentum in ears in the coming weeks
