Why everyone should buy the R9 290. (US)

Everyone should buy the R9 290 because it is only $259.99 on newegg.com (Here)

Here are some benchmarks:

Linus

KitGuru

They are beast overclockers, and 2 of them in CF is unbeatable in price to performance ratio.

It's the one of the best card for the lowest price to performance ratio atm.

I got ripped of when i bought my 270X. I bought it at 180...280X are around 200..... do the math......

Not only that, but you also get the free games, making it an even more enticing deal.

I'll be throwing an R9 in my stopgap rig. I want Star Citizen, and that is one of the games you can get for free, so that saves me another $40.

If you look, you can find the 290 for as low as $230. So $190 for a card that can slay 1080p? Sign me up please.

I would rather have low temps, low power consumption, reliable drivers, less noise, and better performance for a hundred bucks more.

I'm no AMD fan, but I can't deny that that's not tempting. :D

That's good for US, but it seems that AMD doesn't give a f*ck for other countries, like Mexico. My G1 Gaming GTX 970 costed 100-150 less than a decent R9 290, and 20-30 more than a R9 280x.

Anyways it's nice to see that AMD is doing something. These are bad times for AMD, they can't do shit to beat the current 900 series, they just can lower the prices, and wait for their 20nm cards (I lost the hope and I went with the 970)

I really hope that AMD gets back in the game, because a R9 290 is better than a 970 only if it's cheaper, but in performance, power consumption and heat output Nvidia is kicking AMD ass right now, and that's not good.
