Not with maxed out AA, no. But it should do just fine at high-ish settings with some AA.

you should get two cheap GTX 970 i ride them in sli instead, much more performance not much more cost.

I'm pretty sure a single GTX 980 can handle it. However, you definitely need to turn down the graphics a little bit more in order to get that smooth 60 FPS since a 980 barely makes it to 60 FPS in BF4 at 1440P. If you can, consider to SLI that GTX 980 in the future.

980 maybe a great card and all but I seriously doubt it will do that res on ultra, possibly high with or witout aa, should be close to 60.

Im sure one of the linus videos covers that on both cards. I cant remember off the top of my head.

yeah in his review on 1080 its sitting slightly below 60 and to me it seems like a bit of an overkill card for 1080p

My 980 strix was getting 95-100 FPS on 1920x1080 with everything maxed on BF4 before my OC. Now I am seeing 115-125FPS.

If that's the case you should go 980 as it should get you around 60fps with triple screen if it can do that with one.

You can get the gist of what a GTX 980 can do with a triple screen setup. I'm pretty sure you can hit 60 FPS but maybe it will dip into the high 50's sometimes. And about the SLI thing, maybe you can SLI next year after AMD comes out with their new lineup or when NVIDIA's new GM210 comes out  :P

I get 70-100fps in BF4 at 5760x1080 with a single 980 with no aa and everything ultra except Lighting (medium) and post processing (I use low because ultra adds motion blur but it can be set to ultra with almost no performance impact at all)

wow seeing this thread makes me realize how badly we need more graphics horsepower... pretty sad that a top of the line card cant max current games at this resolution

Haven't tried Far Cry 3 yet tbh. Are there any other games you would like me to try? I'll do it now.

Just tried FC3 now. So, with everything completely maxed with 8x MSAA I was getting a solid 20fps (LOL), with everything maxed and no AA I was getting 50-60fps but as soon as I hopped in a car and started driving I was getting a steady 50-55fps, then I tried no AA, shadows and ambient lighting set to medium and I was getting 60-77fps while walking around and 60-mid 60's while driving. Even though it was dropping to the 50's range while having everything maxed with no AA it felt super smooth I was honestly surprised at how smooth it was, if someone told me it was capped at 60fps I would of believed them. I also did not hit the VRAM limit once even with everything maxed with 8x MSAA.

Edit: I should also note that I did not use any overclocking for these tests.

far cry 3 is not really more demanding than BF4...graphicacly demanding games are metro last light, crysis 3 and watchdogs.

I honestly love it for gaming, I mainly play BF4 and it works great with it and theres a lot of other games that support it and for those that don't you can use a program called Flawless Widescreen and it fixes stretching and placement of HUD elements. But, I pretty much always have it disabled because when I'm in the desktop working I almost always have a playlist of TV shows playing with VLC and the problem is that with surround VLC won't maximize to just one screen so I have keep resizing the window everytime a new episode plays, it's a small issue and probably won't affect you or many other people but it' just one of those things that bugs me.

In theory, you should be able to see more in shooters but I didn't like it. My aim was a mess, so were the HUDs in the games I was playing. I was using 2 GTX580s in SLI with an i7 920 on a 1366 board. I really wanted to make it work, I gave it 6 months but it just wasn't for me and in the end, I just used the side monitors as media screens/temp monitors/twitter feeds ect.

I can never go back to having just 1 monitor, but I'll never game on more than one again. If I wanted a wider aspect, I'd happily try 21:9 but at the same time, you'll have to pry my ROG Swift out of my cold, dead hands :D
