Cosmos 2 or 900D

MzCatieB

Im due funding for updates from work soon and i want to do a nice mod to last a few years...

Im stuck between the style designs of Cosmos 2 and the 900D

The 900D has the scale and bulk behind it meaning it will be a nice case to work with however the Cosmos 2 looks significantly more stylish.

My plans are to do a Black and brass theme using this as a design influence

I've never been a fan of the Cosmos 2 (or any CM case) because I feel the internals never make optimal use of the space available.

Go with the 900D. The Enthoo Primo or NZXT Phantom 820 are good alternatives if you haven't considered them yet.

900d for sure, the cosmos 2 is unnecessary large for what you can fit inside and is ugly IMO

Though there are other really nice large cases

What hardware are you putting inside? do you need a case that large? they look a bit silly if not stuffed full of goodies

my plans for the cosmos 2 would be to very heavily modify it and yes i have looked in to the Enthoo and NZXT...

the Enthoo is fairly resticted for what i have planned and the Phantomes look ugly imo...

And its mostly down to styling...

my pluses and minus for bot the Cosmos and 900 balance out eachother

900D, not really a fan of either, but the Cosmos has way too much plastic.

Im planning to push a Haswell-e with either Duel 980's or a Titan Black.

But the cooling is where all the size comes in to play... i intend to use Brass pipes over a mattblack design... similar to the corset in my original post

Dual 980s unless you need the Blacks for their rendering/computer performance (you might since you dev)

Hmm

IMO

If you want an easy time -900d, you can hide all the nasty stuff in the bottom, and you have a much larger window to see the pipes and insides!

If you want to put work in - then you could make the Cosmos look really nice - and it would look more unique

If you're willing to start hacking at a case, get the Cosmos. It takes a bit of work to fix the few things wrong with it, but you can style it nicely. That and the 900D has some..not so great airflow.

its the bulk of the 900D that puts me off most :| lovely case... but i wont mind a middle ground between the 750 and the 900

The side panels are plastic with a thin metal coating. Doesn't feel/look as high quality

Not everyone is bothered by that :P especially as you pay for that privilege (though you are telling the truth)
