Quick Math Question - Turned Out To Be Not That Quick

My math teacher gave me an exercise.

This is what i have gotten so far:

200x+500=10*2^x and i know this is right.

Can anyone explain to me how to solve this?

I guess you need to use logarithm but i forgot how.

my brain is working on this for about 2 hours, i swear.

btw, x is equals to about 7,67 if that helps.

but it is the way i solve the task that gives me points.

 

i have got the ti-nspire cx (without cas) that can do numerical solve. not sure what numerical solve it though.

when i put in this task it outputs -2,49111 which technically the result of the equation system but that result doesnt fit my exercise.

Isnt this just a quadratic formula? ....

So its 10*x^2 - 200x - 500 = 0

Then just use the quad eqn

somebody recommended this already, but it's 10*2^x no 10*x^2.

I think you're supposed to simplify it to x = base log2(20x + 50) and THEN use your calculator. I see no way of doing it manually.

You'll need to use the graphical method with Y = mX + C i think. I cant solve it too

Anyway, If I remember correctly, you would go to wolframalpha and search the equation and it would give you an answer and the solution. If you don't pay, you ahve 3 free complete solutions per day, if you pay, you have infinite solutions.

 

Seriously tho, I think you should isolate the 2^x by dividing by 10, giving you 20x+50=2^x for the rest, i'm sorry, but I can't help, this stuff is so far.

 

But do not forget, the log is an exponent. Also, whatever your teachers say, learning the trigonometrical circle by heart is utterly pointless.
