Recommend me a LGA1150 motherboard

SkimmyMcG

I'm building my brother a computer and need some recommendations on an LGA1150 motherboard, the only thing he's picky about is USB ports, it needs lots of USB ports. I've been having trouble finding one with more than 4 USB ports, I'd like to see the board have four dimm slots, but that's not a must. These are the specs so far if you're wondering:

i7-4770 3.4GHz

G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 2X4GB (8GB)

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB HDD

EVGA SuperClocked GTX 660 3GB

Rosewill ARMOR-EVO case (Can be changed depending on what motherboard is selected)

Corsair CX 500W

PC Specs:

CPU: i7-9700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Elite | RAM: 16GB's Team T-Force Vulcan 3000MHz | GPU: Zotac GTX 1070 8GB AMP! Edition  | Storage: 500GB WD Caviar Blue | 1TB WD Caviar Black | Crucial BX200 240GB SSD | OS: Windows 10 64-bit  | PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+ Gold | CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 | Mouse: Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum Headphones: Sennheiser HD 598 Special Edition's, HD 598 Cs | Keyboard: CM Storm QuickFire XT MX Blues Monitors: Acer GN246HL 144Hz, Acer G226HQLBbd 60Hz | Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro.

I recommend the MSI z87-G45 its for MSI which means: good looks, good warranty policy not too expensive and you can also buy a USB hub ;)

Do you already have those parts? If not, why are you asking help for a single component?

Give us a budget and we will make you a whole PC ;)

Kind of unbalanced build but ok, and I'd reccommend something like a Z97 PC MATE on a budget, and talking of budgets, tell us yours

My overall budget is around $1000, gonna be going over a little. This isn't the final build so I will be making changes, not big ones, though. This is what I want to do: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/BpQ9RB Feel free to give suggestions.

well for me the only thing I suggest is a z97 motherboard that looks super sexy in your eyes.

nothing beats personal preference.

ex. we can all say this one looks better but you and other people might not think so.

Live your life like a dream.

My favourite LGA 1150 board is the Asus Z97-AR, though that's purely aesthetics. For functionality there are 4 I like; the ASRock Z97 Extreme6/ac, the MSI Z97-Gaming 9 AC, the Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming G1 WIFI-BK, and the MSI Z97 XPOWER AC

All of them have SLI, Wi-Fi, minimum of 8 sata 3 ports (the ASRock and MSI XPower both have 10). Great boards, but expensive boards. None of them look crappy either.
