If they made something like AMD's APU series, that'd be cool, but new full size graphics cards wouldn't be overly useful.

Normandy - Intel Core i5 3470, 8 GB Corsair Vengenace LP, EVGA GTX 960 SSC, Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP, WD Blue 1 TB, Seagate 320 GB (steam), Seagate 320 GB (experimental, second OS, etc), Windows 8.1 + Ubuntu 14.10

Garrus - HP Stream 11

If Intel can do it right unlike they're doing so with their competition with ARM, then sure.

Their iGPUs aren't THAT bad, but...

Considering the current HD graphics is not that bad, and that they make (IMO) the best CPUs compared to other manufacturers, I think they could do decently in the dedicated GPU market.

I've been using my i5 4690K's HD 4600 graphics for gaming for about a month now, it holds up pretty will in most of the games that I play, at least on low-medium settings. (Pretty much constant 60+ FPS in World of tanks, League of Legends, etc..)

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

They've got the money and R&D possibilities. I don't know why they haven't so far.

No thanks, Intel GPU drivers are terrible.

Works fine for me.

-snips-

That's not a gpu.

If they made something good and competitively priced then yes. I tend to be biased with nvidia and amd (I like nvidia) but I've never used an AMD gpu, but for onboard graphics an AMD Apu will kick the shits out of an i5's integrated graphics, at least a 3570k.

For the amount of resources invested into something like that, and for a shrinking market it would be hard to convince anyone to do it at this point.

Spoiler

FS is highly CPU intensive :P

yeah, so theres no difference between that and my i7, because it uses 1 core intensively, and only benefits from higher clock speeds. (i3 and i7 are pretty similar down to the single core level)
