So, in your opinion, what is your favorite PC racing game?

Also, does anyone know of a good replacement for GT5, but for PC?

F1 2012 or Forza. I would look into Project CARS as well. If you love F1, F1 2012 is a must.

Isn't Forza Xbox only?

I thought they just said it would have an online community, but if they're releasing a PC game (which they should), that's AWESOME!

Sorry, I didn't know Forza was PC only, you can still look into F1 2012 and Project CARS, and as stated by CobaltMK33, Gran Turismo 6.

*Xbox only

need for speed shift 2 is the only racer on pc thats comparable in scope to gt5. visually its actually better looking and if you find the rite mods you can get the handling to match real world car performance.

f1 2012 is ok for what it is but is limited to the f1 cars. still its decent and looks better than gt5 or forza...

rfactor is another racing sim. high on physics but is a pain in the ass to play as there are to many options blocking you getting into your first race which makes the game unplayable for some. the latest version that i remember was gonna implement dx11 but i havent see that 1 running in anything more than a video.

the rest is just fluff. most of the need for speed games are arcade racers not sims like gt5 that includes NFSMW all the way to grid 1-2...

whats the difference i hear? real sims dont have rubber banding where if you crash, the NPC cars slow down or your car gets a little boost till you catch up. this is the hallmark of an arcade racer.

Grid and Dirt 3 are great racing games and Project Cars is looking to be amazing.

It's not that realistic, and it doesn't have the nicest graphics, but Need for Speed Underground 2 is still by far the best ( arcadish ) racing game ever..

NFS shift and Dirt 3 for me. I'm still bit sceptic with Grid2. If it has as horrible feel while on wheel&pedals as it has with pad, then its total disappointment... or then it's only my basic pad. We'll see...

Realism-ish: I'd say GRiD, and NFS:Shift

Sheer joy: Burnout Paradise, NFS: Hot Pursuit

Sheer madness: Sonic Sega Allstars Racing, Trackmania United (or the free version Trackmania Nations Forever)

Retro: NFS: Underground, Screamer 2, any of the old Need For Speed games
