Replaced by a 970

Pretty worthy upgrade, honestly.  With new drivers the 970 is performing at the same level of the 780ti and when OC'd pushes a little past the 980, but once those 980's are OC'd, oh man.. they can freakin' touch 7990 and 690's and that's just by themselves.  I know dual 970's also can touch R9 295x2 level's of performance and when OC'd really just lift off in scaling and beauty.

Nvidia played it smart. they conveniently skipped 800 series to prevent confusion trick people who normally only upgrade every two generations into upgrading from 780(ti) to 970/980 through subliminal tactics.  ;)

I like the 970 since I can SLI it with low power consumption.

I will probably be skipping the 1000 series though.

Although, I could always save up some extra money for that too  :)

http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/asus_geforce_gtx_970_strix_review,18.html

Just specific instances, but most of the attached ones have on there multiple game benchmarks and all in it.  I believe an article on Tom's also showcases it being as powerful as a 780ti.  Thiiiiis one http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-970-maxwell,3941-8.html   So, most instances it is  right under 780ti, sometimes tied and sometimes higher than it but that's all dependent on OC's likely.

I have dual 780's and i have no idea if im getting the right framerate from what i should be getting i have no idea if

60fps on farcry 3 ultra 4x MSAA @ 1080p is right

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

I was only 9 years old. I loved Fifflaren so much, I had all the NiP merchandise and matches pirated. I prayed to Fifflaren every night before bed. Thanking him for the life I have been given. Fifflaren is love I say. Fifflaren is life. My dad hears and calls me a fuckhead. I knew he was just jelly of my passion for Fifflaren. I called him a Sw@yer. He hits me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now, and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. I feel someone touching me. I feel someone touching me. It's Fifflaren. I am so happy. He whispers in my ear; "this is my pyjama". He grabs me with his powerful Swedish hands and puts me on my hands and knees. I'm ready. I spread my ass cheeks for Fifflaren. He penetrates my butt-hole. It hurts so much but I do it for Fifflaren. I can feel my butt tearing as my eyes start to water. I push against his force. I want to please Fifflaren. He roars a viking roar as he fills my butt with his love. My dad walks in. Fifflaren looks straight into his eyes and says; "He is a ninja now". Fifflaren is love, Fifflaren is life

I wonder why so many guys here hate on someone just because he did something, that others wouldn't do... Just because he's upgrading from a GTX780 to a GTX970 doesn't make him a stupid person. Maybe he wanted to see this new GM204 perform in his own system, or he wanted the new features.

If someone is spending the money for something that he/she wants, so be it! It's not like they are taking money out of someone elses bank account, right?

There are people, that want to be on the bleeding edge of technology, funny thing is they don't start to hate on others for not having the latest and greatest. Here are tons of people that can't or don't want to upgrade and still run cards like 3 or 4 years old, but guys with new stuff don't pick up on them...

If I would have got the 980 then I wouldn't have wanted to SLI it with my PSU though.

I have been overclocking my 970 and using downsampled resolutions on all of my games and I can play some games at 4k resolution with very high settings on this thing.

My 780 had some annoying coil whine too  :(
