Hey all

I was just wondering if anyone has experience streaming with an AMD FX8350. I want to get into streaming and I feel like I'm "good" enough to entertain others.

My rig:

Fx8350 OC'd 4.8Ghz

R9 290 OC'd

8GB ram

Thanks!

Pretty great as those extra cores aren't being used for anything else, AMD has a Nvidia ShadowPlay like program (IIRC it's in the Raptr suite) that uses the H.264 encoder on the GPU to stream.

(Not my own experience) But according to Logan from Tek Syndicate it worked wonders for him.

It's Pistol who had the 8350 (9590 now) and use to stream 1440p from it perfectly.

If your not using external hardware then the 8 cores of the 8350 will benefit in streaming.

Also Logan does have good things to say about it as well.

Didn't Logan use it like 2 years ago for streaming?

So I should be able to go on Twitch with the Raptr app that has the Twitch function and stream no problemo?

It should in theory, it's called GVR (Game Video Recorder) in Raptr, if not just use the CPU which works perfectly fine.

From what I've seen, the FX 8 cores beat the i5s when streaming games, but it may be marginal depending on the game

Linux "nerd".  If I helped you please like my post and maybe add me as a friend :)  ^_^!

Where do i find this? I just see the Twitch broadcaster app on the home screen of the Raptr app. Is that what you're talking about?

I'm not really sure this was the end of 2013 when I used it, that's probably it though.

Well Logan and the crew over at Tek Syndicate definitely seem to think so, and one (or maybe more?) of the members use it in their personal rig (now a 9590).

I'd imagine it'd go reasonably well, game on 4 'cores' and do the encoding on the other 4 'cores.
