I'm currently using an i7 3770, when should I upgrade my CPU & mobo. Should I wait for Broadwell? Skylake?

How long more can the 3770 last and still be powerful?

The 3770 can you lost you a very long time (It's a very strong chip). It can most likely holdout until the generation AFTER skylake.

It should last a while. I would personally see what broadwell brings and if you like it upgrade, if not wait for skylake.
