PCIe cable and amps

Hi how can you tell how Many amps are being supplied to a pcie cable from a psu? I need 28 amps from two 8 pin connections for a R9 295x. Do you know if a seasonic 1250 or a evga 1300 g2 can supply this with one cable that has two 8 pin connectors on it? Also are the pcie connectors on the 12V rail? Thanks!

The 295X2 power requirements make no sense. Why was it so hard for AMD to just say that the minimum recommended PSU is X watts

 

No, do not run a 295X2 off one PCIe power cable that has two connectors. Run it off two separate cables. A 1250W seasonic or 1300W EVGA G2 is more then enough.

Yes, those PSUs can supply the needed power to your card. They are most likely single 12V rail designs and the 6pin and 8pin pci connectors run from the 12V rail.
