You are an idiot. Your friend probably is not a 60Hz loser and is playing a 240Hz, which means that the 780s will be in good use. Remember: 240FPS at 1080p requires the same GPU power as 60FPS at 4K. Stop assuming that everyone is a dirtbag that still uses 60Hz.

Having a higher hz screen doesn't make your GPU work harder.

Having 3 GPUs is best because it helps to mitigate microstuttering and gives you the option to maintain a framerate closer to 120hz minimum for future monitor upgrades if you dont already have a 120hz panel. The only drawback to tri SLI is that it is costly.
