Want to install water-cooling. No idea what to do

Hi all,
I was wondering if somebody could help me with installing water cooling, especially picking parts.
I've looked at different parts and most of it was totally confusing ( deja vu with my first PC :D ) and I was hoping somebody could clear what the parts do
Thanks~

Hi :) We will gladly help.

First we need a partlist of what is going to be watercooled (system specs, details, etc). Then we need to know budget, location and purchase method. Also, include preferences! (size, rads, aesthetics, etc). Don't be so shy and make a long post, they are pretty normal on the watercooling section of the forum :D

Do you have $600+ to spend on a custom loop?

If not, buy an AiO like the H105 or X61.

If you do, then watch SingularityComputers on youtube and it will answer all your questions.

I agree with this.. that's not to say that it's not possible with a lower budget.. but it's certainly harder.

If you really want to do custom water cooling though, your core parts are essentially..:

Pump

Reservoir

CPU block

Radiator(s)

Fan(s)

Tubing

Fittings (I prefer compression fittings, but barb fittings are available too)

Liquid (you can use distilled water or coolants)

GPU block (this is optional)

If you don't have a massive budget, get an AIO.

Corsair Obsidian 900D | Sennheiser 558 | Ducky Shine Zero Cherry MX Brown w/ Orange Backlight | Func MS-3 | Dell U2141H x3

Yeah it's possible with a lower budget. But at that point you're buying cheap quality parts from ebay or something and risking a leak that will damage your entire PC...

Price also depends on # of waterblocks and radiators, but usually it costs over $500 for CPU+GPU

Yea.. unfortunately so.. cost for performance wise.. AIO is really the best option. Water cooling is not something do to on a budget, unless you have over $600+ reserved for just the water cooling parts.. I can't say I regretted water cooling.. but it definitely hurt my wallet..

I think we need more info from the OP about what kind of stuff he has/wants to cool before we'd be able to recommend anything :P

An alternative, that won't look as cool, but will perform incredible is an AIO for both your CPU and GPU.

I live in the US, so we get some spectacular deals here.

The Cooler Master Seidon 240M can be had for $70 on Newegg(Used to be $55) which will cool down your CPU.  It is a full 240mm radiator, and the included fans are actually very good.

You can also buy a Kraken G10($25-$30) + H55 or AIO of Choice($50+) + Heatsinks($10+) for your GPU.  You only need a 120mm radiator because the performance of a single 120 is incredible, anything more and you are looking at diminishing returns.

You just water cooled your CPU + GPU for under $200 and neither component will exceed 50C at about 60% fan speed.

Watercooling is not worth it unless you have money to blow IMOP, if you want good results just do AIO/higher end air. After dumping lots of money in my loop, I would only reccomend it to anyone who wants to be at the bleeding edge of OCing or wants to do it as a hobby.
