Cancel 8.1 [Urgent]

I have windows 8 and one time when it asked me if I wanted to get windows 8.1, I accidentally pressed yes. It opened the store and I immediately closed the store. A while later, it's now telling me it will restart in now 12 minutes to install it. I don't want 8.1. What do I do to stop this happening?

I learned the hard way that that isn't true, to work an 8 I had to patch and fix etc, and I did the same and more on 8.1 multiple times.

It shouldn't matter. I don't see why an app/program would work on W8 but not 8.1.

What program is it? Most programs will run on both windows 8 and 8.1, since its basically the same OS.

 

Also, there's no way to cancel it (afaik) because it has already installed, and it just needs to restart to apply changes.

I don't know anyone who wouldn't try this as the first thing they do

Unplug power supply from the computer while it's running? It might not be a good idea because it could run the risk of corrupt data and possibly damaging your computer components. 

But 8 and 8.1 are basically the same os, most programs that work on windows 8 will run 8.1.

Well what you're asking for is a strange request, why not contact microsoft tech support?

Go to store. Go to installations. Swipe up/right click. Tab pause/cancel.

Autodesk 2013 does not work with 8.1!

honestly if you NEED to stay on 8 and you've already jumped to 8.1 then you will need to do a reinstall

just let it complete the 8.1 upgrade, while this is happening it is creating a windows 8 shadow copy which you can use to go back to windows 8. Windows should inform at some point during or after how to go back to windows 8, I think it is declining the agreement to the 8.1 upgrade that will cause it to go back to windows 8
