First PC Build Plan. Feedback?

I've been planning to build my first pc that I will be using for playing new / performance heavy games, as well as some drafting (Autocad, Revit) and mapping (ArcGIS Desktop, Quantum GIS) software. I already own a 1080p monitor, considering buying a 1440p monitor, and perhaps dual monitors in the future. Not sure where to start for peripherals, but a low priced (preferably multi-color back lit) keyboard and mouse is ideal, and I own some good Philips speakers. The parts I've planned out are within my desired budget for the pc, around 1300.

Would I just be buying a CD-Key and then downloading windows?
