4MB/second so average for me

Once I set my download location to the one nearest me and not LA I get an average of 2.6. I download from the Phoenix servers.

depends. on older games that have less download servers like HL2 maybe 4MB/s but on newer games, about 8MB/s

So i'm getting my speed.

really? my old speed was 7.5MB/s down and 512KB/s upload. for +$10 we get 25MB/s down and 3MB/s upload. not to mention my ping of 12ms :D

here is a fresh reminder on how companies measure

 

normal companies (phone, cable and more) like use bits /s

 

but steam (with out the companies BS) use the real number on bytes /s

soo... my steam say i use 640 kilobytes /s

 

and i pay (to my phone company) a plan of 5 megabits /s

 

640 kilobytes /s x8 = 5120 kilobits /s

 

5120 kilobits /s :1024 = 5 megabits /s

 

640 kilobytes /s (this is the real number we use here) = 5 megabits /s (the company BS number they sell)

in normal talk, my

 

640K = 5M

 

(companies don't like say they use bits instead bytes)  ^_^

CPU = A10 6800K (@4.3Ghz) / GPU = HD 8670D (@844mhz/ram@1866mhz) - 2016 ≠ Dual Cores - why learn Linux ? - OLD intel x4 cpu (Q6600) + amd HD 7950 - this is what i think on watts x dollar cost - CPU "bottlenecks" only start to show "at the super high end cards" (like the 390) if you have a 4 cores CPU

7.5MB/s = 60Mb/s

Thats actually a conversion.

100mb connection, but heavy traffic due to time, i usually cap around 8 MB/s
