Vapor-X outperforms the other cards in every possible way. It's the fastest and quietest.

For gaming dont get 8gb, 4gb is way more than enough

For some clarification, the Vapor-X is only 4GB.

The Lightning cards are some of the best on the market. I would say they're almost as good as the cards meant specifically for LN2 (K|NGP|N and HoF), but I really wouldn't know for sure how much different their PCBs are. They're far better looking than either one anyway.

Lightning > Vapor-X/Tri-X/TOXIC if you disregard cost. Once you take costs into consideration, Vapor-X > Lightning > TOXIC > Tri-X.

Edit: I do have to stress that you'll need two 8GB video cards in order to actually have full 8GB of VRAM usable. They don't have the BUS width to support 8GB as 1 card.

And it's really not necessary until you push two 4k monitors. Even then it seems like a waste.. Just go triple 1440p and be happy.

Both are respectable companies, both of them have viable cooling solutions for GPU's. Twin Frozr II vs Vapor-X. Both will do their job well, it's down to a matter of do you wish to buy X over Y because of looks or price.

I would personally be happy with either one OP.

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Arguing with religious people is like explaining to your mother that online games can't be paused...

Sapphire vapor-x is straight up the best. Heard some issues with the Twin Frozr not being quite good enough when it comes to the hawaii GPU's but that could just be a handful of cases. At any rate I would go tri-x or vapor-x.
