what kind of PSU are u using

it should have immediately switched off before anything would have happened

Well, considering his friend put it in the oven, I guess someting 380V ~1.5kW but don't quote me on that.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

What kind of genius throws their graphics card in the oven...?

These guys, for example.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

Well... You could use it as a coaster for now...

EDIT: Oh, it's your friend's GPU? Well... It looks like it can't be fixed (easily at least). The only solution I can come up with is to look for another used 550 Ti on ebay or somewhere... They're well under 100$ (or should be)

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

Why... just why would you stick a GPU in the oven.

It does look well baked though, never liked my gpu's raw on the inside.

  • 2 weeks later...

This looks like a real big power delivery problem. This card is DEAD, you wont be albe to fix this one anymore. However i dont know what caused the failure so i would check/replace my psu too so your next card wont burn off too.

i heard once placing a motherboard in the oven for 1 minute fixes soldering that has come lose but dont quote me on that. (i am not kidding)

There was a series that had that problem, I can't remember which one but I remember hearing about it on these forums lol.

Edit: Yeah that GPU is now a doorstop, or a coaster.
