What is the most infected PC you have ever come across?

ShadowCaptain

Any computer a teenager has access to, those are the worst.

I'm 14 and I haven't had a legit virus on my computer in years, just spamware and the sorts.

My Current Build:

Intel i5 3570K @ 4.4GHz 1.11V, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Asrock Z77 Extreme4, Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Asus GTX 760 DCII Overclocked, Corsair CX600M

I think my dad's old laptop had about 150 viruses or other bits of malware on it, but that's probably the worst I've seen. Admittedly I had an entertaining event on my laptop after I first got it and installed AVG on it. I decided one afternoon to do a full scan, and lo and behold, AVG decides that there is are two very big pieces of malware aboard. The entire games section of my laptop (preinstalled, so solitare etc.) and AVG itself. Yes, an antivirus thought it's very self was a virus. So it uninstalled itself. Funniest thing I've ever seen a piece of software do.

Not really , Any computer in a non-techsavy persons hands will be bad, and anyone who knows a thing or two will be fine.

Adults can screw up computers if they don't know what's happening as well.

I'm 12, so hah! I'm not a teenager!

And?

Keep in mind that you've bothered to register on a tech forum for starters. Perhaps I should have tossed in the word "average".

Back when I was in high school, the school computers were constantly slow and bogged down with crap because many of the students were idiots. This was back in the day when people still used Yahoo instant messenger. In fact, I would often spend times after class to help clean out the systems, tinker with registry ect. because the students were really dumb with the stuff they would download. And this was with a school filter, go figure. So many tool bars and clicked ads. The librarian would also complain and practically force you to use IE. This was XP IE, the BAD one. Chrome didn't exist back then, either.

Fast forward a few years later after I graduate and we get a neighbor with the typical teenage girl. I was at the neighbors place and needed to her use PC for a sec. Compared to mine, it was so freaking slow. Same issue as the XP boxes I remembered back in high school. It was littered with trash, tool bars, many processes going off at once, IM clients and just really really bad. This was all personal experience touching a computer the average teen had contact with.

Not saying adults get a free pass, just going off personal experience. I'll even go so far as to say I wish those same students who actually thought they won a million dollars from a bright flashy seizure ad were replaced with you guys. You might be young, but just joining this sort of community and being sensible on the internet makes you guys leagues better than many kids I had to deal with when I was in my teens.

I remember getting called out to fixed up a pc for one of the local churches,  Every time they turned it on they were bombarded with porn ads and videos.   Very embarrassing for them as their office ladies were struggling to do their work around all the virus popups. It took me 3 hours (I had to manually delete registry keys and files) just to get the thing clean enough to actually uninstall the old AV and install a new one.
