Get 2 quiet fans for the cpu cooler and change the thermal paste or new quiet cpu cooler like noctua d15.

What is your motherboard?

You can wait for new series of gpus and get high end graphic card with more vram. Dont buy yet, you can survive with that gpu you have.

Get new case fans that are quiet.

Get another SSD from Samsung, 850 series with 10 year warranty. I would say 512 gb or whateveer has best price / gb ratio.

Get new good psu, prefferably from seasonic.

FX 8350, Corsair 200R, 16gb ram, cx600m, cooler master hyper 212 evo, R9 270, 240gb ssd, 2x 500gb hdds

almost exactly the same as my pc specs. I have a 280x and one 1tb HDD.

I would recommend saving up a little extra money on a 280x, trust me its worth it.

The hyper 212 evo does an "ok" job at cooling, i managed to overclock it slightly but not that much due to cooling restrictions.

But i totally support this build regardless of my suggestions! have a good day. :)

Uhm put it in the bank and save it, like seriously buying new computer parts is nice but your rig is just fine. You will need the money I promise.

Your primary option would be to save the money, it is the only thing you cant regret.

Personally I would wait for until I could get a broadwell CPU and DDR4. Otherwise I would use it on a new GPU  (290X or 780(ti).

Spoiler

Case Bitfenix Ghost, Mobo Asus Maximus VIII Ranger, CPU i7 6700K @4.2 Ghz cooled by Arctic cooling Freezer i30, (barely). GPU Nvidia GTX 970 Gigabyte G1 @1519Mhz core, RAM 16Gb Crucial Ballistix CL16 @2400Mhz. SSD 128GB Sandisk Ultra Plus as my OS drive. HDD's  1TB  Seagate ST31000524AS its OEM, 3TB Seagate Barracuda, 2x 500GB WDC Blue (RAID 0)

If it isn't working absolutely perfectly, according to all your assumptions, it is broken.

Put half away for college, take half of the remainder and put in savings for PC upgrades later this year or early next year and with the remainder do something nice for mom and dad(either take them to dinner or something they would like) or do some charity.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.
