Public School Strikes again (Rant)

I am going into my first year of high school (Freshman) this year. I was most excited about taking Computer Science all the way through High School (if you take it as a fresh man you can take a more advanced one next year) up intill the point that they said it was only offered 7th period. Here is where I get pissed though. I cant take Computers because I play sports. They made the one Computer Science class at the time that anyone that plays any sports couldn't get into the class. I asked the school why they did that because that takes out like half the school and they said that they diddnt think all the more athletic people would want to take the more advanced computer class. So here I am I am just pissed so ignore this if you want.    *Side note* I am going to the Ninth Grade center that is across the street from the actual high school so maybe they will have some sort of computer science class next year that isn't during that last period of the day.

I am a junior, and have taken 3 years of Algebra 1 (same textbook and everything). Now get this, i have passed the class twice with an A and once with a B. I have also taken and passed Geometry with an A.

 

But guess what, i get to take Algebra 1 again this year. Yes, the same freaking text book.

 

The reason why is because classes are assigned in alphebetical order. So when they get down to the "W's" (my last name is Wright) all the advanced classes are taken. I have a few friends who are stuck in other classes for many years, simply because of their poor placement in the alphebet.

 

 

Long story short, be proud of your country. Putting your hard-earned tax dollars to work by screwing the next generation over.

Yeah it was more like a generalization to counter his generalization. But yeah there will be exceptions. In all honesty, every time I hear someone from the US complain about public schools and how private schools are better and for the "elite", it causes some dissonance in what I expect. Over here in Toronto (and I mean the whole city, not just the 3 schools I went to over the past 14 years), the complete opposite happens. I swear everyone I met over at summer school which had students from across the city laughs at people who go to private schools instead of public because they can "pay their way to university". 800 bucks per class earns you a 90.

It is a period and after school. Like we start and end like a hour and a half after school so we have like 2 and a half hour practices.

All schools do Sport/Physical Education during the day don't they? Because in 4th year you do theory too not just activities..
