The Cheapest Gaming Build Possible ! £230

PaulDoyle333

I wanted to build the lowest powered machine i could. This little htpc is on 24/7 and uses less power than a lightbulb .

The Beastly Specs : haha

Gigabyte AM1M-S2H Motherboard

Athlon 5350 Quadcore APU (25watts) 2.05 ghz

4GB 1600Mhz DDR3

500GB WD Blue HDD

Nvdia GT 730 1GB GDDR5

Aerocool QS 101 Slim Case with 400watt PSU supplied

The GT730 never came with a low profile bracket so i mangled the bracket with a grips and squished her in there .

The  cooler for the CPU is so small not much bigger than a poker chip .The little Athlon chip does not get hot at all so no need for anything bigger i suppose

For £230' cheaper than most phones you would be surprised what this little fella can do .It plays a lot of games better than a Xbox One .

What a complete fail that console is !!!

Anyway here is some pictures and screenshots . Tried recording game play but my frame-rate it games drops by half when recording and the little GT730 doesn't support shadowplay

TBH second-hand components could've gotten a bit more powerful rig, although with an increased power consumption...

And before anyone is saying anything about GT 730 geing utter shite: it's about as powerful as a GTX 550 Ti. Still runs games without problems, sure, lower settings, but you can run every game, no problem.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

Yes i could of used a cpu but the motherboards for AM1 platform are dirt cheap , £18 for motherboard .I could of got a pentium but cheapest board i could find was about £30-£35 . This was the cheapest option available and uses the least amount of power .Gives me 4 little cores at 25watts. I just disable the build in graphics .
