Hello,

I'm currently looking into replacing my older razer goliathus mousepad for a newer one & was hoping to get some recommendations. I've been told it highly depends on the types of game one plays, as of now I mostly play League, WoW, CS:GO & Rust.

For now I have been looking into Logitech's G240 & G440. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Razer and Steel Series make good mouse pads. To be honest I got the same performance from a magazine before I got my gaming mouse pad but it didn't look as nice. :)

Thanks, I'll take a look into those.

im no pro at this, but you have different surface types for different games/gamestyles.

what are you gaming?

In order of time spent playing: Moba (League), World of Warcraft, CS:GO & Rust.

Hard or soft pad? If you want hard I have many recommendations. I have a good one for if you want a super slick one as well.

Go Mionix Sargas 900. Deskpad master race ftw. Unless you don't like friction, this pad is rough compared to my old goliathus speed and destructor.

Not entirely sure as I heard it depends on the type of games (List of games above). This would be one of the main reason's I was asking as well.

Well if it gonna help you, I play FPS games and League on hard pad. (Every game basically :D )

I would say it is matter of preference.

I agree with @Frankie as I use a hard pad for everything. I usually prefer smooth vs slick when it comes to hardpads. I does wear your feet down quite quick though.

SteelSeries 4HD. Good size, solid and cheap. I'm very happy with mine. I play all type of games using a SteelSeries Rival mouse on it.

Here is the link to SteelSeries' page for more info: http://steelseries.com/products/surfaces/steelseries-4hd

Never say it's not broken. Everything is broken. Why? Because everything needs MOAR POWA!

Isn't the 4HD a smaller size pad? If I remember the 9HD is their standard 10x12. If you use relatively high DPI it should be fine but even with 1600 DPI it would probably be too little space for me while gaming.

The Puretrak Talent is probably the best cloth pad around.

The Steelseries QcK is overrated IMO. The Talent is way smoother and doesn't feel as "rough", and offers a bit better glide.

The Artisan Hien is also good.

Well some people may prefer what you just pointed out, but in my opinion it's just a personal preference.

In my case the price won and I bought Steelseries Qck mini, which was "easy on the pocket".

Yep, the 4HD is the "smaller" one being 11.4"x9.4". Great size actually. The 9HD is 12.6"x10.6", so really not a huge difference. Difference in price though (you'd have to check your local pricing; I got my 4HD for $20 CAD).

I use to use an ASUS mouse between 1200 and 2000 DPI on a notebook that was smaller than 8.5"x11" and had no issues with running out of surface area.

Yes, but the Talent is smoother on the skin, which I think most people would prefer.
