Yes, but the Talent is smoother on the skin, which I think most people would prefer.

k, well I'm not really familiar with any other mouse pads so I don't criticize them  :)

Hmm... maybe I should remember that product then, because when my Qck falls apart I need to look for a replacement ;)

I have the previous version of this mousepad, called the eXactMat. Been using it for 6+ years and it's fantastic. Having the two different surfaces to choose from is nice as each fits a different purpose. The smooth or "speed" side is great for most games and everyday use and the textured "control" side is great for super accurate tracking for things like sniping. Also, the wrist rest is just as comfortable now as it was over 6 years ago when I bought it.

Isn't the 4HD a smaller size pad? If I remember the 9HD is their standard 10x12. If you use relatively high DPI it should be fine but even with 1600 DPI it would probably be too little space for me while gaming.

4HD is what I would call the "standard" size mouse mat. I use it with 800 DPI and it's fine.

when I said standard I was referring to steelseries standard size which they started way back with icemat. The S&S, SP, and SX. I think I might be missing one. The newer razer hardpads are the same dimension as well except a stanadrd rectangle without the curve on the bottom. The also have the Invicta http://goo.gl/BZ1Xuj which is a double sided hard mat in a mill aluminum base which steeleries didnt have. This is my current personal favorite followed by their manticor http://goo.gl/b8dMxF which is basically the steelseries sx. They are lacking a equivalent to the SP but steelseries still has the 9HD which is close construction wise but I really think the EVGA mousepad I got with my TORQ X10 Carbon is a step up. They should really sell it to fill the thick hard plastic pad category. I hope to have pics of it up soon in my mouse review thread. The Razer Destructor 2 http://goo.gl/1NzkFq fills the open spot of thing plastic pad left by the S&S and is one pad i still need to acquire but I imagine itll be good as razer did well with the other two.

Another type of pad I highly recommend is the NGen lines from C4 mousepads. http://c4mousepads.com/ My only problem is that none of them are a hard pad so their not exactly to my likeing. They will cover anything so im working on getting some thick stainless steel and have them make something up.

Razer Goliathus so I can put my keyboard underneath it. Only so it can look nice. The quality of mine wa nto brilliant though as the stitching was fraying on yhe sides.

I have a the largest size one here http://c4mousepads.com/C4Ngen04.htm 20in x 36in and well I dont know if i lied it since i insist on keeping my mousepad clean from anything and now a good portion of even my large desk is mouspad so i lose a bunch of space. I could put stuff on it but I fear wrecking it or something. a 10x12 would be better. I have some 8x10 but not big enough and well the concerns of the above post.

To be honest, I've used no mousepad, a free really crappy hard mousepad I got from a job fair, and my current one, the Razer Goliathus Extended Edition I got for Christmas.

I have noticed no difference between any of them.

Just get one that looks good.

My brain is on overload with the amount of recommendations haha, I appreciate it.

I personally play around 1500-2000 DPI with league & WoW being the main games.

I would avoid mouse pads made of metal if you live in an environement that gets cold during winter. My wrist/palm was constantly cold from the aluminum mouse pad I used to have :) (Norway is quite cold..)

I used to swear by cloth (primarily SteelSeries QCK), but lately I've been using a SteelSeries 4HD and I like the hard plastic surface very good. It's also much easier to clean (cloth mats get dirty after some months use). I play Dota2/WoW and you can pretty much pick anything of reasonable quality and it will do the job fine, but you can never go wrong with SteelSeries mouse pads tbh. The QCK comes with many different designs and colours so you'll probably find something that fits in with the other peripherals you have :)
