Is iOS going to win anybody over in the upcoming iPhone 6 launch?

Baurblades43

So right now I currently have a Galaxy S4. I've been looking into phones a lot for a while and I know a ton. I've never owned a iPhone but I do have an iPod 5 and an iPad. Yes touchwiz is absolute crap and that is why I am rooted and constantly switch around to different roms looking for the perfect one. However I am not on an unlocked boot loader so I am limited to the speed I can actually get out of my phone. Touchwiz will stay in the longrun.

Anyways, I just wanted to fill you in on my perspective. I'm currently looking for a new phone after having the gs4 for 18 months. The LG G3 has really caught my eye and I've wanted one ever since the tiny teasers and unofficial anouncements. I'm just distrawn by the battery life, the build, and the software. I know for sure their will be dozens of custom roms out for it once its officially releases but still.. I love the build but nothing really compares to the metal feel of a phone that I've always enjoyed with my iPod 5. The new iPhone 6 has had what seems like millions of rumors and crap and so far, its pretty self explanatory what apple is gonna do. Two models, a 4.7" and a 5.5". I've always liked large phones so I'd definitley roll with the 5.5".

The real question comes down to software. iOS vs Android.

Over the years I've learned yes. Android is FAAAARRRR superior in sooooo many ways. But their is one thing I've always enjoyed and just love to death about iOS... Everything just works.. It seems like their are NEVER any bugs with anything, everything is as smooth as can be, no glitches, apps are built for the phone specifically. And android(at least touchwiz and the roms I've tried) just always seem to have faults. Whether its apps crashing, lag in certain areas like when the keyboard pops up to launching apps. I just don't like the inconsistency of it. Also, I am deeply mad in love with the TouchID, hate if you'd like, I just love it.

What're your opinions on iOS vs Android in this regard? Once the iPhone 6 comes out, it'll be less of phone wars and more of software wars because the iPhone 6 will be as fast and as big as the flagships on the android side.

Android's biggest flaw in my opinion is also one of it's greatest strengths: use of Java.

This results in having to use VM and not running things native.

However Java allows for more people to develop for the platform since it's a widely adopted language.

Yeah I agree.

I'd suggest using a phone that's not heavily skinned before making a final decision about Android.

Personally I'll never have an iPhone. I don't like Apple, their requirement for iTunes, and while the phone is nicely made I'm just not a fan of it either.

I like the vastly superior customization Android offers. These days most phones are the same slab type style, I want to have a difference somewhere.

The Apps everywhere thing doesn't appeal to me either. My N5 doesn't have anything on the Home screen, just the way I like it.

Problem is. I love the N5... Looks beautiful. Except I'm on Verizon.
