you dont need 4  290x to run that

2 290x is more than enough.

oh ya and that display is only 1080p

if you thought it was 1440p

then two or more 290x is required, but that is not rerecorded

get 2 780tis or something like that.  the scaling is much better.

full HD bro

anyway it almost 4k resolutions

3/4 of 4K to be exact

but pushing 120 fps which is more than 60 fps

dual 290x might not be enough for 120 fps

three GPU might seem to be the sensible setup

no need for Lightning cards

go for the reference 290x if you going full watercooling

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

no.. there are no 3k monitores... i hope when you say 2k you mean 2560x144p right?

3 of those have 30% more pixels than a 4K display.

here is a good video about your questions

2560x1440 is only around 3.7 mega pixels

but with 3 monitor setups, 2 GPU will have trouble pushing that many pixels excess of 11.3 mega pixels and way above 8.8 mega pixels of the typical 4K panel

which is why you see only 4 GPU setups for multi-screen gaming

No, nothing currently available can run 3x 1440p or above monitors at 60fps consistently in every game, let alone 120

Can you do it and play games? Yes, but probaly not the best experiance, if you want surround stick to 1080p if you want super definition get a single 1440p or 4k monitor, (in my opinion anyway)

Desktop - Corsair 300r i7 4770k H100i MSI 780ti 16GB Vengeance Pro 2400mhz Crucial MX100 512gb Samsung Evo 250gb 2 TB WD Green, AOC Q2770PQU 1440p 27" monitor Laptop Clevo W110er - 11.6" 768p, i5 3230m, 650m GT 2gb, OCZ vertex 4 256gb,  4gb ram, Server: Fractal Define Mini, MSI Z78-G43, Intel G3220, 8GB Corsair Vengeance, 4x 3tb WD Reds in Raid 10, Phone Oppo Reno 10x 256gb , Camera Sony A7iii

higher res is better than more fps

but you need to look at 4 way Crossfire to be viable

for me personally 120/144hz is not a selling point. 60 is more than enogh for me. i care more about the resolution and the color accuracy more than anything.

for a multi monitor setup i would recommend something that is not using a TN panel. IPS or PLS is recommended.

yes go for 1440P IPS monitors like the Asus PB278Q or Dell U2713HM

this...

resolution and panel quality before refresh rate.

unless you are a professional gamer who plays only twitch shooters than a 144hz display makes sense. but everyone else should look at the rest of the specs as well.

I'm also gonna mine currency, is crossfire that bad? So how many 290xs do I need to play 1440 x3 @120hz htz @ ultra/high

3 or 4 290xs, if you really want to maintain 120FPS on the highest possible settings with 1440p

Mining currency isn't worth it anymore
