It depends how close you are to the monitor but generally a 22-24" is optimal :)

The sweet spot is about 23" for 1080p, 24-25 for 1440p, and 28" for 4k, however it does depend a lot on how close you are to the monitor. Also, you can be perfectly fine with smaller monitors too, it's a matter of taste.

Sweet spot is about 100-130ppi. 28 inches 4k is not good you need to scale it and windows programs don't really work with scaling. 34"+ inches would be good for 4K.

For 1080p 23 inch is perfect. For 1440p I would rather have 24 inches. (Sadly I have to use a 27 inch 1440p) For 4k 27 inches would be great.

Also dat title.

sorry if i sound pissy but to be having a amazing ips 1440p monitor and complain about it sounds a bit spoiled :|

21.5"-23" 1080p is probably the way to go, i still remember the upgrade from a 17" to a 21.5", the fact it's widescreen really gives a better gaming experience in my opinion.

Also check the type of panel, try to take an IPS one, they are a bit more expensive but the quality is a lot better.

Giggity.

I used to use a 19" 5:4 monitor for a while with the shared family computer then moved to a 22" 16:10 TV which worked perfectly as a 1680x1050 monitor, after that i got 3x 1920x1080 23" monitors and that was awesome except for the bezels, then i went to 27" 1080p and it was a bit downgrade but games performed better, then i got a 27" 2560x1440 screen and it's much better. I like a lot of screen real estate so the bigger the better for me. I could work on a 32" 4k monitor or one of those 21:9 3440x1440 screens easily enough but i wont be getting one of those until they come down in price and we get much better quality versions.

Exact screen size is really personal opinion. I like my 21.5" 1080p monitor, but do wish it was a 24" model. Some people like smaller, some like bigger. I could see going to a 27/28" with 4k in the future.

Never say it's not broken. Everything is broken. Why? Because everything needs MOAR POWA!
