If you won the mega lottery-

Syntaxvgm

Invest smart, so that eventually i could tell people i am a 'genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist" then start R&D on a  legit Iron man suit, but change J.A.R.V.I.S. voice out for Cortana's. and depending on how much is left after that little escapade, invest in my twilight years fund.

With a bunch of money I would buy first a workstation grade pc for stuff. Then fund the development of better pc components. With what's left, I would put some in to disease research and open an e sports and Lan bar that also connects with a Chick-fil-A. Of course there will also be a large some of cash that I will use to buy various cats of which multiple movies will comprised of. Diabolical I know.

i would buy a cabin deep deep in the woods and live out the rest of my life happily reading and contemplating, and that's that, that's my one dream and the ideal life in my view, i would ask for nothing more if i could achieve that. I have no need for big houses or fancy cars, i just don't want to spend my life working as a slave.

What would you be reading?

Oh dear, where do I start... After a completely ridiculous gaming rig and a hefty donation to EKWB, and of course a "slight" financial injection into my parents' business, the following come to mind :

A Bell 222 helicopter modified to look like the one from Airwolf

A modest yacht

Lamborghini Aventador

Bugatti Veyron SS

Ferrari 458

Audi RS6

Audi R8

Tesla S

A MiG - 25

A Focke - Wulf 190

A Sukhoi Su - 35

A Leopard 2 tank

And a Green Day concert.

Ok ready for some imagination? good.

Id pay a ton of cash to some company that can make me a hologram laser setup in my gaming room, and models of anime characters,so everytime i win in games they would cheer for me... what?

Also id probably ask Intel to make me a custom desktop cpu with 30 cores at 4ghz or so and hyperthread just to show off here on LTT.

Its funny how some people take this thread very seriously, which was meant as a joke.

Buy the most expensive set of CS:GO skins I can including knife, then fuck off and play CS:GO for the rest of my life.

Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof.

As I get older I get angrier more cynical, meaner. I feel some warning posts coming. I feel a ban coming. I was warned.

Tech related? .... Probably home automation... Make a massive water cooling system that runs through the whole house and into a natural radiator (the ground outside), that can be plugged and unplugged in many location... (Is actually easier than you'd think... just somewhat expensive and a pain in the butt to set up

Buy a top of the line PC, but nothing too fancy, only a single GPU, not much point going SLI/Crossfire as it will be out of date within 2 years or so, might as well keep the rest... Either that or build a super computer with a million or two, set it up in a basement and access it through terminals around the house.
...
But really now, there's not much to spent money on in tech.

Lol So Funny!

To love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failure, but risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

What would you be reading?

wow, never thought anyone would ask, well mainly informational books, i would start with reading about physics, anything that can give me some insight to the fundamentals of how the world works, basically everything that interests me, then anything i have time for really, if i should ever get a temporary feeling of satisfaction with what i know.

I would contract Intel, AMD, and Nvidia to make THE OMNI COMPUTER. It shall be an 8 CPU master PC with 64 cores, hand picked silicon, 6 Ghz of clockspeed, and Phase change cooling each, forming THE OMNI PROCESSOR. It will have 6,000 Radeon 5770s and 6000 GeForce 570s, all in OMNIFIRE. The OMNI COMPUTER shall be on a large pod-like vehicle, that I shall pilot. I will have a skintight suit on that reveals from my neck down to the center of my upper torso in a sort of V-shape. I will have a long, flowing, glorious white mane with glowing blue eyes. As I sail the OMNI COMPUTER into the sky, my golden chin-and-neck-beard-AIO shall wave in the wind ever so gracefully atop my jiggling mound of neck fat, as I sing psalms of the great lord, GABE NEWELL. Wonder and inspiration strikes like the lightning of Thor's hammer itself, and so I stand with confidence in my gut and perseverance in my heart; fists clenched tightly enough to almost draw blood, one being held in the air, and my face positioned upwards, scraping the stratosphere and searching for the stars.

I don't overclock... I OGREclock.
Shrek is love. Shrek is life.

I'd buy or build a LCD manufacturing plant and start producing affordable 4k IPS monitors 60hz. And for the hell of it produce 4k IPS 144hz and 8k monitors. To hell with price fixing on computer monitors.

That is the single most brilliant thing I have ever heard. Hacker fish..

zUrDZ.png

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch
