Should i wash my fans?

Hello! I saw two minutes ago the techquickie's video about fan bearings....i was always washing my fans to get rid of dust and now i wonder if that was right.....so should i continue washing them?

no soap.....just washing it under the fauset....i wash the bearing and the blades and then i blow the water off....

If you're completely drying it immediately after it's wet then the bearing wont' rust and it's fine. The bearing will need to be re lubricated though because you are basically washing away the lubricant. Why are you using water in the first place? Why not just clean your fans with compressed air? Or even just have filters and your fan stays clean and just clean the filter?

get a old shaving brush to clean them with, DRY!! at best, use baby wipes or the like.

I wash the blades of without getting the bearing wet. I would not recommend getting the pcb on the fan wet,

IMO, the only thing you should be doing to your fans is wiping the blades. Fans will last a long time without having to clean the bearing, unless yours die prematurely.

Eh, anything like WD-40 would do.
