Scientists can now use DNA to store data

This isn't exactly new considering this article was published in 2012 so I put it here instead of in the tech news section. I've never heard about this until today and it shocked and amazed me. Scientists can store data in DNA and then can decode it back into data that our computers can perceive. I'll leave the rest to the article....

In the future we may be able to store copious amounts of data in DNA. Albeit it is not a fast process like nan flash or even the hard disks we have today but it does not deteriorate like data stored on drives do.

well the average amount of DNA in a cell is 6 x 10^-12 or (0.0000000000006) grams and the average human has about 1 x 10^13 or (100000000000000) cells. So multiply those and you get 60. So 60 grams * 700 terabytes = 42,000 terabytes or 42 petabytes (I think petabytes are after terabytes?) are in your body. roughly
