My bro wants to do SLI EVGA SC 780's w/ ACX. He doesn't mind the price as long as they're sub $600 which both the 3GB and 6GB models are on Newegg.

It can't hurt getting the 6GB model right? I mean best case scenario he benefits from the extra VRAM nicely, worst case scenario he still has two perfectly fine 3GB 780's. Or am I missing something?

Yes there is, you're wasting the extra vram because you can't use it and just throwing money you into something you can't full use..

I'd rather get the 6GB version, not because it's got 6GB of VRAM, but rather because it is the same price as the regular GTX 780.
