The 7th Generation of Consoles ruined the entire franchise.
(We are on the 8th Generation by 2014)
PC's wrecked consoles completely because of this complete jump and fall by Sony and Microsoft ruining the convenience of Consoles
PC Games are overall Superior Better Looking more Optimized Overall CHEAPER I mean look at Origin giving away Battlefield 3 for free for a week and Steam, Its Steam...GY1CxId.png

Plug in the thing put in the game and its ready to play, now its plug in the console spend 1-3 hours updating the console

put the game in wait another 2-5 hours for the game to update maybe there is another update to the  game ANOTHER FEW HOURS

Steam's games are all in one place you can download them anytime anywhere and its overall faster to download.

Consoles, they had a good run. But it seems PC won in the end.

For the full Story go to the top of this Topic and click the link for the Full head on Article that was well explained by one of best guys for these kinds of topics.

PC Elitist or not, hes right.

Note. I love consoles. It honestly is saddening to find this happening. ReviewTechUSA, really, if you don't think he at least has a bit of a point, stop being butthurt. I can not find one thing that he was wrong on. Maybe i'm blind deaf and stupid. But I really think this is one of the most level headed guys on the internet.

Plug in the thing put in the game and its ready to play, now its plug in the console spend 1-3 hours updating the console

Though, of course, if you want the real experience:

1. Spend 2 hours putting it together.

2. Realize something was forgotten/run into unexpected issues, there goes another hour.

3. Finally, working. Install Windows, takes another 30 minutes.

4. Install drivers, another 30 minutes.

5. Install Steam/Origin and download a game. 1 hour - 1 day (depending on internet, seemingly 3 hour average)

6 Get playing!

For a prebuilt, remove steps 1-4.

Third post, I know.

Consoles are still cheaper. The type of PC Shitbox that one would build for $400 WITH OS is one worth a single-sided TekSyndicate or Austin Evans video. Seriously, build a PC with OS that games better than a console (including DECENT peripherals). I bet you that it won't be able to be done.

They won't die. There are plenty of console plebs that are too noobish to know that PCs are better, and they prefer how simple it is to buy just one box and have it work, rather than building your own rig from scratch with no experience.

Just like apple products for old people, it is easier to use. Also at that price point it is hard to get a PC that is better.

I don't believe console gaming is dying from the sales I see. Sure PCs may be more convenient for some but consoles still has tons of money being pulling in due to their sales.

Well I would make some crappy reply denying some things. But yes. This could be a way. I have SLOW Internet is the thing though. It ranks at 10mbps download and 3 Upload

It says that. But hell it does not run that and I downloaded Steam in about 10 minutes and origin and 15 is the thing (actually runs at about 100kbs a second) . But I do strongly agree with what you mean in the first 4 Steps.

It can get tedious but you can upgrade them. New part is mostly cheaper then a new console.

I love consoles, still do. But they messed up recently.

I would like to note that ALL of our opinions are object to bias.

It comes down to what it is worth to you.

Take lets-player's for example; It's worth a lot. They need good gear to provide a decent aesthetic experience for their audience, to in-turn make money. Of course, a good personality is needed, etc etc, but that's all easier to put together than a capture card from console-pc, with mic and such recording on pc as well, when on PC I just set up DXTory/Audacity and I'm chill. Again, it is more expensive on the PC side, but it's value to the person is what matters.

Then we take the guy who works 10 hours a day. He comes home, sits on his couch, and his console is perfectly fine for him. He only gets to game about an hour a day, if that, and really doesn't want to deal with finding the time and money to keep his PC updated, and even more-so would like to keep away from dropping $2k on a PC that'll last him 3 or so years before needing an upgrade, excluding if a component fails.

Being a 17 year old kid in High School, who has worked plenty for college savings and such, I didn't mind dropping a lot of it on a PC. I used it to make money. I work on pre/post production with video, do music for commissions, and sometimes lend my computer to a buddy of mine who's doing a lot of 3d rendering but has a crappy rig himself. For someone already working, and just wants a bit of time a day to lay back and escape the real world, I can see a console being a hundred times better.

I really wish that we'd just make organic hardware already, that grows and adapts to the demands it needs to meet. That way, grannies' computers can be floppy sacks of organicness and the 12 year old Minecrafters will look like the guys that only do bicep curls, and the nerdy programmers will finally have justice, with their body-builder rigs that skipped leg day.

Getting PC: like 1K to run everything max

Getting a Console: like 400$ to run everything med to low.

Yes, console can run more for less money, for now.. BUT~!

Console gaming: 60$ each, ass load of money just for a few games, could have a badass super PC by the ammount a console's games will cost ya in a year. Games are lucky to go under 40$ if they're old, except for PS1 games.

PC Gaming: Can get brand new games for a dollar (Thank god for Steam), litteraly, there was a pack to buy ALL tomb raider games that ever exist, including the most recent one.

Pack was about 7$. And I believe the new TR was just, erhm, a week, maybe a month old?

Console? Prboably will at LEAST try pulling 40$ out of you.

Not trying to show fanboyism or anything, I like consoles for their exclusives and controllers, but this is pretty mucha  solid fact that gaming on PC overtime is FAR LESS expensive. I don't like it when I see this fact said wrong or left out, that and people getting what's stronger than what wrong.

Sure, can get some old games on Console for somewhat cheap, but it's not common, and it's kind of rare.

well and the benefit of putting your own PC together it's unique to you :) just something that hasn't been mentioned before because some people care about the ascetic look and find both ps4 and xbox one fugly in the one and only color of black (mind you i was a xbox 360 gamer until they came out) however you can customize the controller but that is it(getting like a BF4 controller or something), to my knowledge without voiding your warranty

Really? It usually takes me a half hour to get the PC together and then another 2 to manage the cables well, which is not at all a requirement for a functional computer.

Most of the people I have worked with in building PCs have taken about 2 hours on average. I myself can do a build in an hour. And TBH, most people considering the switch from console to PC are going to be first time builders. Not all, but a lot.

Honestly, you just have to screw in the motherboard, hard drives and graphics card. After that it's just cables, if you didn't get an aftermarket heatsink or fans.

Cables, fans and other things are what's actually fiddly to do.

Also its because the PS3 and 360 cost like $800 in parts on release and were sold for $500. They made money in games sold and accessories. This time the consoles are pretty much worth the price they are sold at.

Where I live when they came out they were like 700 euros, and usually we get pretty fair pricing here. Still, at least the ps3 didn't have that horrible sub fee :P wii u ftw! (I actually have an original wii, never regretted the purchase)
