did I just allow a virus to get on my pc

Alright so MB just finished it's scanning and found Connect_DLC adware and something called Installbrain from InstallQ, which MB says it is PUP. So these aren't virus right?

Neither are viruses, but adware injects ads into websites (so remove it) and PUPs are potentially unwanted programs (not puppies), so if you don't know what it is you should remove it. However, if you cancelled the download, firefox is smart enough not to let it have harmed your computer. Generally you have to actually run malware for it to have an effect.
