Fridge PC?

This is a build Ive been wanting to do but cant really afford but I just had the idea. I want to do a build inside of a mini fridge I have just sitting around. I have an old like 14 year old Compaq PC sitting around and I want to see if I can mount in in this mini fridge. If I find out it is actually possible to mount a PC in a mini fridge then I might actually a decent watercooled build in one for really nice overclocking :D. I would also like to put a window in the top with some nice LEDs in there and then Itll be like the 250d :D. If you guys have suggestions about routing cables such as power outside the fridge please your suggestions and tell me what you think of it. I think outside the box, but maybe this is too far?

It wouldn't work if you turned on the fridge. The condensation from the temperatures would short something out.

This is more like inside the box thinking. (Cause it's a fridge.) Airflow would be terrible. 

Screw airflow. The fridge would be below 50F most of the time.

best you can get with a fidge mounted pc is a decent room temp(well a lower then room temp).  Otherwise you will get condensation.  That same fridge likely has a pelltier plate which is what would be more efficient.  It has been done before and people use vaseline heated with a hair dryer to seal it on the mobo around the processor to prevent the condensation from making contact.  It is a risky move either way.

Not to mention that mini-fridges are designed to keep food cool, they aren't so great with cooling anything that actually produces heat. You put anything more powerful that a low-end APU system in there and you'll be overheating.

Oh I didnt think about condensation... I wonder if there would be a way to protect the parts? Thanks for replying before I stuck my first PC in there and was heartbroken.. Yes I get emotionally attached to my electronics

I would use a mini fridge but don't actually use the cooling system of the fridge just set it up all nice so it looks cool, you could sort a fan or two in the back for airflow it would be a cool project.

You could put a reservoir in a fridge and cool that. Then the condensation would be on it and not something vital like the CPU block. 

Of course, then you'd need to insulate the tubing as well to prevent condensation from forming there. If the motherboard were upside down, outside the fridge, the condensation would drip downwards. As long as the CPU block and the CPU stayed above room temperature, you'd be good. Just don't turn the fridge to high. Low would probably be preferred.

It's definitely possible. Just probably not worth it.

You could get tubes from the mini fridge to an enclosed box where the build is, have a dehumidifier running somewhere in between, then maybe??

Solution: Live in a giant fridge! Your living place would be the same temp= no condensation right!?

 

And no girls will want to sleep over after sex either..
