Watching Newegg TV when they mentioned yet another supposed rumor about Half Life 3.

Here's the link (fast forward to 6:30 )

But as I'm relatively new to PC gaming I had yet to play the half life titles.

So guess who is 3 hours into Half Life one?  :D

Valve knows that expectations for Half-Life 3 is too high. That's why they will wait until everybody that played Half-Life 2 is dead to release Half-Life 3.

The stone cannot know why the chisel cleaves it; the iron cannot know why the fire scorches it. When thy life is cleft and scorched, when death and despair leap at thee, beat not thy breast and curse thy evil fate, but thank the Builder for the trials that shape thee.

Apparently they said "I don't think anybody would be surprised if we said we were working on Half Life 3." or something like that.

I honestly think that they are winding SteamOS up to a point where at least dual booting it might be widespread enough to consider launching HL3 on it exclusively as an adoption drive.

Could be wrong, maybe they are just waiting to see if that's even going to be a possibility, or maybe the reasons are totally different, but at least it's a theory with some logic.

Meh Half life 2 took 10 years to come out and it has only been what 7 since HL2 episode 2? Valve is known to take a very long time in their games because they want it to be a good title one of the reasons why as big as they are they're still privately owned. I for one, while frustrated with the lack of information, isn't going to ever give them flak for releasing their games so delayed. Half life 2 was a revolution in gaming, the source 2 engine/the physics almost all of it pushed new paradigms in game development when it came out so keep it up Valve I say, if Half life 3 is as big of a jump as Half life 2 was I rather wait for it than a water downed unfinished game that so many AAA titles these days seem to be due to corporate pressure.
